Service
The lab is unique in that all the work is carried out by myself or by a fully qualified technician under my close supervision. It is this commitment to quality and personal service which is really appreciated by my regular clients. They also know that the service is fast, but, if deadlines are a real problem, then Ainsley's Darkroom will stay open until their job is complete - and that's a promise.
Techniques
Over the years I have developed various techniques for colour and black-and-white
printing. I am always happy to share these with you and to offer advice before
you shoot your pictures of have your prints made.
The C41 processing lines at Ainsley's Darkroom is precise and consistent - under my strict control. All B&W films are processed by hand using the appropriate developer.
Ilfochrome
As well as my regular colour and black-and-white hand printing, I offer superb Ilfochrome prints (previously known as Cibachrome). This reversal colour print process is unsurpassed for sheer quality. I have made a special study of the process and suggest that this is the print to go for if you want the absolute best from your transparencies. And with all hand printing, you, the client, can specify the exact effect you require.
